Artist's Comments

Hero was Aphrodite's priestress on Sestos. She and Leandros were famous lovers in Greek mythology. Her priestress status forbade her marriage but they kept having a secret affair which eventually ended up tragically for both of them.

Initially designed for the GFX mythical women contest, but got carried in the details and missed the deadline.. :dead:

then, I turned it into a homage to mythical actress Gene Tierney :yum:
