It's been a while I haven't done a painting without labouring first on the lineart. In this one, I started directly with random blotches, shaping and detailing as ideas came along; an enjoyable change of pace although it took much much longer to sort it out in the end! (actually, this painting is not finished yet but well, I guess I pretty much gave it up now..)

I used some face ref. (G.Tierney, L.Bacall) to get the classic glamourous style I was aiming at;
done in Painter, desaturation adjustment in PS.

Love this piece. It absolutelly contains the magical way of those golden times. The large and romantic eyes of womens, and the softness of skin. A very well done piece. Congratulations!!!
